Sunday, Y-day + 1
I'm very proud of myself: I did what I set out to do, which is to take a run through the surroundings of my new home for the next 4 months, to get to know the lay of the land. The weather couldn't have been better, sunny and brisk, no wind. The millennium is some time ago by now |
In any case, the secret society of early Sunday runners and dog owners was out in full force! It's a time of day when everyone who manages to be up and around still earns a hello.
When reentering the building I discovered the bicycle shed. Since the Halfords store next to yesterday eve's supermarket turns out to be open on Sundays, I'll go there straight away to see if they have a suitable 2nd hand bike. Today is a day for exploring if there ever was one.
This is what I would call a dream start.
And, did they have a suitable 2nd- hand one?

There's a nice 3 mi. run to the New Earswick Bowls Club to watch a Sunday game with tea and biscuits. Or the Sunday football match on the telly with a pint of lager! Gr. Ron
